Saturday, January 27, the Southern University men and women’s basketball team will take to the floor against the Braves of Alcorn State University.
The SU women’s team, ranked first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a (14-3, 8-0 SWAC) will do battle with the number two team in the SWAC. The Lady Braves (9-5, 6-2 SWAC), the defending SWAC champions who went on to play eventual national champion Notre Dame, are coming off a 65-62 up-set loss to the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M.
The SU men will take on the Braves, who are coming to Baton Rouge with an eight game winning streak after defeating Alabama A&M 92-91.
The women are set to tip off at 5:30 p.m., the men at 7:30 p.m. in the F.G Clark Activity Center.
