I know that some of you are cantankerous over the fact that we have lost our first two games. I’ve heard some of you in the Jaguar Nation say that this is the worst defense or worst offense that you have seen in a while, along with other mean things that don’t apply to college football.
But regardless of if they win or lose, your support is necessary. The Jaguars have always been legendary for having a faithful, no-holds-barred following, so let’s not let this two-game skid stop that.
Support isn’t just being there, support is telling Coach Pete to keep his head up. Support is telling Coach Oliver that although his men have played a disappointing game, there is still hope and we can still control the SWAC.
Support isn’t standing on the side during practice and berating every member of the team because they didn’t do what you wanted them to do. Support isn’t watching the coaches with their staff and players walk by afterwards and not encouraging them.
I know that being a part of the Jaguar Nation is something extremely extraordinary. It’s like a big family. Every family has rifts and every family has their revivals.
I think it’s time for revival.
Now, it is time for this week’s predictions:
-Colby Miller will complete all of his PAT’s.
-Michael Hayes will have over 200 receiving yards.
Victor Ike will rush 150+ yards on the Golden Lions with less than 30 carries.
-Ezra Landry will have his breakout game when he will return at least one punt for a touchdown and he will get at least 200 yards on the game.
-Sometimes it seems as if Landry and Ike are quicker than their blockers. This will not be the fact during Saturday’s game. The line will definitely set up the appropriate blocks and holes for these two to run through.
-Lenny Williams, Kendrick Paul, Jabari Greene, Randy Williams and Herman Hartman will have a SWAC-tacular game against UAPB. I predict a combined 40 SOLO tackles, 10 deflections, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions. They will be fired up, so this is no impossible feat.
-Additionally, Charles Lemons will have his breakthrough game Saturday. I predict an additional three tackles.
-I can’t forget the offensive line; my prediction is that they will prevent Richard, Fisher, or Sharp to get sacked no more than three times. I would like to say that they won’t get sacked at all, but let’s be realistic.
-I also see Carl Singleton joining Ike in the backfield real soon.
-Finally, I see Southern whipping UAPB’s hind parts 56-10.
And I will see you all in Arkansas.
