My grandmother is someone whom I will always admire. Though she died when I was only seven, I still remember things about her. One of those things that stands out in my mind when I think of ‘Grandma Eva’ is a particular sampler she displayed in her bedroom. That simple little framed phrase is something that I live by now and always. Right beneath a crocheted picture of a sunrise says, “Each day is a new beginning.” As I grow older and hopefully wiser, I know this is true. I believe in it so much that it inspired me to write something of my own.
So dear Digest readers, I would like to share with you something that I have framed near my bathroom mirror. I hope you enjoy and can somehow be enlightened.
Good morning oh beautiful child of God. I see that He has blessed you with the gift of living once again…Go ahead, take in a deep breath and savor it. So, what’s on the agenda for today? I know, busy, busy, busy! Or maybe just one to relax. Whatever the case, enjoy, because as I said, you have been given the gift of living, once again.
Just keep these things in mind today: Let everyone who you love and/or care about know just that, in some kind of way. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate or even verbal. Just make sure they know. Never forget who your true friends are and tell them “thank you”. Don’t let ignorance take up space in your head. This can be from someone else or yourself…Don’t ask; you know exactly what I’m talking about. Try to make a good difference in at least one person’s life. This can be something as simple as smiling at someone. Make the most of your gifts your Heavenly Father has blessed you with.
You’re here for a purpose, make sure you make Him proud. Be happy. Don’t let anyone take your joy. Oh, oh yes, you do have joy inside…Find it and savor it. Look your best, feel your best, be your best. Never settle for anything less…From yourself and not from anyone else. Last, but certainly not least, when in doubt, ask the man upstairs…And I mean ask about anything…Nothing is too big or small for His advice. Listen closely for the answer. It will be just and right.
Well, now you’re ready for yet another day. Rejoice and be glad in it, and everything will be just fine!
Peace.
