With strong vocals and soulful words, Def Jam’s/ Def Soul’s hottest new group 3rd Storee’s album, Get With Me is a must buy. The project caters to those interested in a group with many dimensions of style and hip-hop flare with radio friendly tracks.
Everybody has heard the first single Get With Me, (featuring Joe Budden) blazing a trail on the radio, MTV and BET. Their first single, has placed 3rd Storee atthe forefront of young pop and urban listeners.
3rd Storee first hit the scene in 1997 and returned in 2002, with members Gavin, Kevontay, D’Smoove, Jay-R and J’son. This group has been compared to some of the greatest groups, such as the Jackson Five and New Edition.
With producers such as Rodney Jerkins (Mary J.Blige, Brandy) and Nokio of Dru Hill, this group has all the necessary ingredients on this album to sell millions.
The album consists of 12 tracks, three of which are slow and smooth ballads. The remaining eight are upbeat jams. The group continues to show their versatility with one heartfelt track sung acappella entiitled Don’t’ Lose Hope.
Party tunes like All Aboard and Clap Your Hands, which the group co-wrote with Nokio, are sure to make people want to get up and dance.
The group’s vocal skills can be heard to the full effect on the ballad entitled I’m Sorry (featured on the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack). It reflects the softer side of the teenage heart.
With a group this diverse it’s no wonder they have the essentials to gain the fans and the public attention necessary for success.
“For those who have stuck with us through the years…you haven’s seen anything yet,” said the group in a recent press release for Get With Me. “And for those who are discovering us for the first time…Look out-we’re here and ready!”
