The home football game against Miles College is not the only thing happening on campus Saturday. Southern University will host the first Family Day.
All students and their parents are invited to attend the Family Day extravaganza starting with registration at 11 a.m. in the Southern University Lab School Gym.
Following registration, professors will be in Seymour Gym after 1 p.m. to chat with parents.
Starting at 2 p.m., a campus tour will be given to show parents what’s new and different on the yard.
“This is just a way to welcome all students and their parents here at Southern,” said Velva Thomas, director of admissions.
The Student Government Association will be hosting a step show and tailgate party on the lawn of Mayberry Dining Hall.
A complimentary ticket will be provided for each registered student participant and a parent. Designated parking will be available at the SU Laboratory School via the Swan Street entrance.
“We want the students to feel good about Southern University,” Thomas said. “We also want to persuade others to enroll here at Southern University.”
