The Southern University men and women’s basketball teams will travel to Grambling State University, Saturday February 2 for their second match-up of the 2001-02 season.
Both SU teams defeated the Tigers, Saturday, January 5 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
The ladies led by Jacklyn Winfield with a season-high of 32 points, defeated the Lady Tigers 80-67.
The men’s team claimed their first victory of the season, with a 107-87 win over Grambling. Victor, the 5’10 guard from Baton Rouge, helped break the team’s eleven game losing streak with 24 points and eight assists.
Saturday night’s activities are schedules to get rolling at 5:30 p.m. with the ladies contest. The game will take place in Memorial Gymnasium.
The Jaguars then will face Jackson State in Jackson, Miss., on Monday, March 4. Tip offs are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
