Two Southern University graduate students were elected to positions on the National Black Graduation Student Association Board at its conference in Washington D.C.
Sylvia Matthews was elected to serve as southern regional representative and Jarrett Landor-Ngemi was elected to serve as parliamentarian.
“My main role as southern regional representative will be to act as a liaison between the constituents in the region and NGSAC,” said Matthews.
Both students are Masters of Public Administration students in the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and urban forestry. They are also members of the Southern University Graduate Student Association in which Matthews holds the office of secretary and Landor-Ngemi holds the office of vice-president.
