The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center will host a free workshop on Dec. 1 to discuss business opportunities for landscape and lawn care providers post Hurricane Katrina.
Entitled, “Making New Orleans Green Again”, the workshop will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Ashford O. Williams Hall at the SU Ag Center.
The workshop is a complimentary effort being sponsored by the SU Ag Center, Southern University at New Orleans, and the colleges of business and agricultural, family, and consumer sciences.
The purpose of the workshop is to identify and discuss problems facing landscape and lawn care service providers, as well as recommend ways for these providers to obtain expert help with getting and/or restoring permits, licenses and certificates for small businesses affected by the hurricane.
A second workshop will be held Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. in New Orleans in the Marriott located at 555 Canal Street.
