Beginning Dec 5, the Lake After Hours, sponsored by Our Lady of the Lake, will provide longer hours for convenient health care to the Baton Rouge community. According to a press release, the clinic will be open from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. seven days a week. Currently, the outpatient facility opens at 3 p.m. on weekdays only.
“We are trying to be a healing ministry for the community,” said Kelly Zimmerman, press secretary for Our Lady of the Lake Corporate Communications.
Zimmerman said that the decision to extend the clinic’s hours of operation are a permanent attempt to meet the higher demands for the area’s community.
“The Drusilla location is our most centrally located clinic,” said Steve Sellars, president and CEO of Lake After Hours and Total Occupational Medicine. “The move to opening Drusilla during the day will enable Lake After Hours to continue to meet the need for convenient access to quality, urgent medical care in our community.”
The clinic, located at 3333 Drusilla Lane, is an affiliated health care provider with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. In addition to the Drusilla location, there are also five other locations in the Baton Rouge and Hammond area.
According to their website, the clinic operates on a “walk-in” basis providing “cost-effective treatment for minor injuries and illness on a walk-in basis at times when most physicians’ offices are closed.”
Some of the services provided at the Drusilla location include physical examinations, flu shots and immunizations, audiograms and alcohol and drug testing.
