All freshmen students are required to attend the Founders’ Day Convocation on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Faculty are asked to excuse all freshmen from classes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are not to be penalized for missing class to attend the Founders’ Day Convocation.
Faculty are also asked to excuse student program participants from their classes during this time period.
Classes are not canceled for the Founders’ Day Convocation. However, faculty may issue assignments, if they chose to do so, that require students to participate in Founders’ Day activities.

Pre-Spring Break Health Fair
Students can pick up a free Spring Break send off gift bag on Thursday, March 19 in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom of the Smith-Brown Memorial Union from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. during the Pre-Spring Break Health Fair.
The event is being held in observance with National Women and Girls HIV Awareness Day (male students are invited to attend). The National Women and Girls HIV Awareness Day is an annual day to raise awareness of the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS among women and girls and to encourage them to take action.
There will also be free food, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling and a raffle.
The health fair is sponsored by the Southern University HIV/AIDS Prevention Program, Feel Good/Feel Safe HIV/AIDS Awareness Program and the Advocates for Youth HBCU Initiative for HIV/AIDS Prevention.

Writing Proficiency deadline
The Writing Proficiency Examination is scheduled for Thursday, April 2.
Only those students who have officially registered by March 12 will be allowed to take the test. Students can begin signing in at 3:15 p.m. at their appointed sites. To ensure that the test begins on time, there will be no admittance after 3:45 p.m.
Students are to report as follows:
•A-E: School of Nursing Auditorium
•F-L: Harris Hall Classrooms
•M-P: Lee Hall Auditorium
•Q-Z: Stewart Hall Auditorium
