With the Southern University homecoming festivities fast approaching it is important to note that the Pep Rally is scheduled for Thursday, October 4th in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
The Jaguars football team has a current record of 4-0 this semester, and it is quite important for the students, faculty and staff to show their Jaguar Pride by attending.
The rally is slated to begin at noon, and the day will include awesome giveaways that coincide with this year’s homecoming theme, “Jaguar Pride, Catch It”.
On the line up for the event is the Southern University cheerleaders, Gold’N Bluez Dancers, the Human Jukebox and McDonald 35 cheerleaders.
Pete Richardson, Head Football Coach, will be present with the Jaguar football team. In addition to the football team the volleyball, soccer and tennis teams will also make cameos.
“I have a lot of school spirit and I am very excited to see what the SGA has in store for the pep rally; and I hope to see a variety of artist at the rally helping us to support the jaguars”, said JaQuincia Williams, a freshmen accounting major from Zachary,
Accord to information provided by Jonas Vanderbilt, assistant program adviser and coach of the Gold’N Bluez, this year’s perspective artist for the homecoming pep rally include: J.John, Young Chilla, Copper Top and many other possible contenders.
Many students look forward to this years pep rally and believe that certainly the Jaguar Family should be excused from class to attend such an exciting event.
“The only thing about the rally that I didn’t like was that classes were not cancelled and I had to skip to attend a school function,” said Latoya Smith, a junior criminal justice major, from Alexandria.
This event is expected to have a major turnout; and all Jaguars, faculty, staff, students and administrators are encouraged to attend and catch Jaguar Pride.
