BATON ROUGE – The undefeated Southern University Jaguars play their first home game of the season at 6 p.m. Saturday in A.W. Mumford Stadium.
Southern Campus Police ask that fans get to the stadium as early as possible to avoid being caught in a traffic crunch before kickoff.
All lanes of traffic on Harding Boulevard and Scenic Highway will be directed toward A.W. Mumford Stadium before the game and away from the stadium after the game.
Here are some rules and changes that fans should follow:
• Kick off is at 6 p.m. instead of the customary 7 p.m.
• All purses and bags will be subject to search.
• No smoking will be allowed in the stadium.
• No umbrellas will be allowed in the stadium.
• Persons will not be allowed to bring food, beverages and coolers through the stadium gates.
• Metal detectors will be in use at the stadium.
• No tailgating will be allowed along the north side of Harding Boulevard in the area of the tennis courts.
• Tickets will be on sale on game day at the Scenic Highway Ticket Office from 11 a.m. until half time and at the Felton G. Clark Activity Center Ticket Office from 4 p.m. until halftime.
• The area outside of the south end of A. W. Mumford Stadium will be a restricted access area.
• Persons without tickets will not be allowed to congregate around the stadium.
• Persons without reserved parking are to enter the campus through Harding Boulevard or Mills Avenue.
