For Divinity Bradley it is her second, while Jamika Pugh earned her first Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors but the team is still looking for its first win of the season.
Southern (0-6) will travel to Natchitoches, LA on Friday, September 21st to take on Northwestern State University in a 7 p.m. contest. The game will be played at Demon Soccer Complex.
Pugh, a junior captain earn the defensive award as she assisted the Lady Jaguars in recording 20 saves against Southeastern Louisiana University this past Sunday while Bradley, a true freshman recorded 20 saves to tie herself for first in the Southern University soccer record book for most saves in one game.
“Both ladies deserved the awards because of all the hard work they do every day,” said head coach John Knighten. “Jamika has been a great defender since her freshman season while Divinity has been a great goalie.”
