In addition to spring break, students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the nation have something else to anticipate in the month of March.
BET’s network reality series “College Hill” is back for another spring semester to record and exploit the portrayal of college life at HBCUs.
This year, BET officials decided to “change it up a little” in terms of location by filming the entire season in St. Thomas on the sunny Virgin Islands.
Another variation this season is the make up of the cast, which will consist of four students from the Virgin Islands as well as four transfer students from California. All eight castmembers will attend the University of the Virgin Islands.
Cast standouts this year include Idesha, a 22-year-old senior biology major from St. Kitts, Nevis, who was awarded a full scholarship to UVI during her junior year of high school.
Avid musician JT, a 21-year-old music technology and film major from Compton, loves spending down time with the females of the house even though he has a significant other back at home.
Although in its fourth season, many Southern University students said they could still remember the first season well.
“Although the first season was here at SU, I really didn’t like it too much,” said Javier Hatch, a senior arts major from Franklin. “It’s good to see that BET is coming along though, and I’ll watch the first episode to see what’s new.”
On the first episode of the season, the group gets to know one another through a pick-up game of Truth or Dare.
According to a BET press release, the new season “brings a new combination of saucy, volatile and eclectic personalities” to the series, as well as even more on-and-off campus debauchery for views to enjoy.
The show kicks off on Tuesday, March 6 at 10 pm ET/PT.
There are 13 half-hour episodes with the exception of the premiere, which will air for an hour.
