Jackson, Miss. – The Southern University Lady Jaguars volleyball team was defeated by the Lady Tigers of Jackson State University 3-0.
Southern (4-8, 1-0 SWAC) was lead by sophomore Ena Payne who completed the game with six kills, three digs and three and a half blocks. Freshman Candace Southall, currently the co-Rookie of the Week in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, finished the contest with five kills, two service aces and six digs.
“We’ve been moving people in different places trying to find that right line-up,” Denu said.
“We are going to try some different things so we can start off the month of September right with some wins.”
Southern will travel to Texas next weekend to play Prairie View A&M University Friday at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Lady Jags play Texas Southern at 2 p.m.
