The Southern University Lady Jaguars soccer team has achieved a first this season as Ashley Stevenson was named goalie of the week for Oct. 2-6.
Stevenson a, 6-0 senior from Tulsa, Okla. recorded nine saves on the week. She had seven saves in the game against Alabama A&M and two against Alabama State.
“I saw Ashley play one of her best games in her career against Alabama A&M,” said head coach John Knighten. “She has really improved her game and is getting better every contest.”
“I was really focused for the game against A&M,” Steveson said. “There was a lot of energy on the field because we are ready to win and I was feeding off that.”
