The Southern University Office of Student Media will release the fall 2005, spring 2006 yearbooks today at 1062 T.H. Harris Hall beginning at 9:30 a.m.
“I’m excited about the whole thing and that it’s completed,” said Kamiliah Story, editor in chief for The Jaguar Yearbook and recent graduate school graduate from Southern. “I hope (the) Southern students enjoy it.”
Production for the 320 page, all color, yearbook began in August of 2005 and wrapped up around the same time this year.
According to Anthony Moore, the current editor in chief for the next yearbook, the theme of this year’s book is “Your Spot in Time,” which he said is reflected throughout the book by displaying different spots in time in representation of various school events that took place last year.
“I look for each yearbook we produce to set the standard for the future one,” said Christopher Jones, assistant director for the Office of Student Media and yearbook advisor.
According to Jones, the special feature for this year’s book will be a special section dedicated to Hurricane Katrina, the catastrophe storm which ravished parts of the Louisiana coastline on August 29, 2005.
The yearbook will only be for pick up by students who were registered as full time during the fall of 2005 and spring 2006 semesters. Students must also have a valid student ID.
