There are no two identical fingerprints on this planet, but according to Time Magazine and other media resources, there may soon be.
The process of cloning human beings by using embryonic stem cells has headed the frontier of research. What exactly is cloning? Cloning is the process when one creates an ancestral copy of an individual organism through abstinent reproduction, as by stimulating a single cell. What does this means for our future?
Will more of our taxpayer’s money be used for this project to help an industry of death? Will double the people cause twice as many problems?
Or will it become the answer for curing aliments such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, Cancer, and Heart Disease? Have we turned our faith to man and not to our Creator, who is the giver of life? Our Creator has breathed the breath of life into our souls. What kinds of soul will a clone possess? Can man handle the responsibility of playing God? The list of questions can go on and on.
Previously during the presidential run off, Bush stated in a letter to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops that taxpayer’s money would not be used for research. But recently, CBS Evening News interviewed with President Bush regarding how his decision to use the taxpayer’s dollars has changed. The President now plans to use some of the taxpayer’s money to help with research, but to strictly limit federal funding for research on stem cells taken from human embryos.
Could you imagine your hard earned dollars helping to pay for something that could become a world disaster? What about Pro-Life? Will it be ignored? Is it worth taking the chance?
Researchers agree and some taxpayers say it will be beneficial to clone a human. Beneficial to those who are infertile, or has lost a love one to death, to those who are in need of an organ transplant, gay couples looking to produce a biological offspring, and to those who has been stricken with disease. Is this an act of God? Or, are they playing God?
Nevertheless, while the decision is being made to clone a human being, there could be problems resulting from it. Problems such as not enough jobs available, not enough food, population increase, and increase of crimes along with mistaken identities.
From another perspective, if the research of stem cells is successful, it could solve the answer to many fatal diseases. The burden of losing a love one to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Cancer, Heart Disease and other diseases may be lifted. It could also means population growth will increase enormously, because many lives will be restored. Again, is it an act of God? Or, are they trying to play God? What do you think?
Our faith should lie in God, that we do the right thing.
