I feel that Southern has come a long way in the area of student parking, but has a long way to go as far as improvements to current areas and faculty/student designation.”
Michael Swilley,

“Why does everyone have so much negative stuff to say about Southern. I mean, if it’s so bad…go to LSU or Baton Rouge Community College.”

“Homecoming week is a week full of enjoyment and a variety of fun and excitement. I hope that everyone continues to be safe on one of the most thrilling weeks of the school year.”
Tia T. Mills,

“Hang in there Troy, a winner never quits for a quitter never wins! As a former Baton Rouge fan of yours at University High I personally know of your capabilities, your past friendship is admirable. The Jags are a group of positive winners and remember you only fall down to rise again, without rising there is no “Victory!”

“I don’t think it is a good idea for SU to entertain the idea of becoming a Division 1 institution. A change of that magnitude would only water down the HBCU appeal that SU has. Being an HBCU and a member of the SWAC is a special thing, especially at Southern . . . A change to Division 1 will forever alter that legacy. The student population will change, thereby changing the face of the university overall. Case in point Tennessee State, an HBCU that just doesn’t seem to be.”
Judy Boudreaux
Communications Director – Detroit
“MAMA JAG you are truly a blessing. You always made me feel at home I always ask about you through your niece Shavonne Lee Anderson. Although you gave me a hard time when I was umpiring a SU softball game, but it was all in good fun. We Love you here in Denver. Congrats!”
