With a full week of activities planned for Homecoming 2001, the Fashionably Loud Fashion Show was held at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
“We wanted to try a new program. We wanted to be extraverted in this years activities,” said Avery Wilson, SGA president.
“Overall, the turn out was okay, but the publicity was low. They (SGA) should have publicized more. And they should have asked other students to participate. The university wants to see other people in the show. Not just SGA,” said Tyquincia Wilford, a junior biology (pre-med.) major from Destrehan.
With a cast mixed of 18 girls and guys, the show was expressed in four scenes: Scene One: Casual Wear, Scene two: Hip Hop Wear, Scene three: Club wear, and Scene four: Swimwear.
Known for her choreography of many pageants and fashion shows campus, Kavon Smith said this homecoming would be a memorable one.
“This is my last homecoming. I have had the opportunity to see all the hard work behind the scenes as a participant,” said Smith a senior therapeutic recreation major from Atlanta,
During intermission, entertainment was provided by Act a Fool, Kool D.J. Supamike of the Max 94.1 Dream Team and Entourage, who performed the bunny hop dance with SU students.
Wilson and Brandon Gatlin, SGA Activities Coordinator organized the fashion show.
