The Lady Jaguars participated in a Classic of their own this past weekend. The HBCU Women’s’ Basketball Classic was initially scheduled for the Municipal Arena, but was rescheduled to be played at Dillard University.
Regardless of the site, the Jaguars took the victory. The Jags (2-2) first game was played Thursday at 7p.m. against Fayetteville State University (1-2). The Jags worried as they were down 7 points at the end of the first half and brought it to Fayetteville in the second half, Jags were up 46-25. Leading the Jaguars in scoring was junior Jacklyn Winfield with 26 points. They won the game 66-52.
The next night, starting guard Jacklyn Winfield and Forward Tremesha Colbert lead their team in scoring against the FAMU Rattlers scoring 16 points a piece. The Jags earned another victory, putting the Rattlers on their back with a 53-36
